Personal data collected by this website and the reasons for collecting it
Comments
When visitors leave comments on this site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as their IP address and browser user-agent string to help detect spam.
An anonymised string (also known as a ‘hash’) generated from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to check whether you are using it. The service’s privacy policy can be found at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will be publicly visible alongside your comment.
Media
When uploading images to the site, you should not upload images that contain location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site may download images from the site and extract the location data.

Cookie
When you leave a comment on this site, you can opt in to having your name, email address and website saved in a cookie. This is for your convenience, to save you from having to re-enter your details when you leave further comments. This cookie will be retained for one year.
If you have an account and log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
Furthermore, when you log in, we set several cookies to save your login details and screen display preferences. Login cookies are retained for two days, whilst screen display preference cookies are retained for one year. If you select ‘Keep me logged in’, your login details will be retained for two weeks. The login cookies are deleted when you log out.
If you edit or publish a post, additional cookies will be stored in your browser. These cookies do not contain any personal data; they simply indicate the ID of the post you have modified. They expire after one day.

Who we share your data with
How long do we retain your data
When you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so that we can automatically recognise and approve any follow-up comments, rather than holding them in a moderation queue.
If you have an account on this site, we store the personal information you have provided on your user profile page. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information (although they cannot change their username). Site administrators can also view and edit this information.
Your rights regarding your data
If you have an account on this site or have left a comment, you can request to receive an export file of the personal data we hold about you (including all data you have provided). You can also request the erasure of your personal data. This does not include data that we are obliged to retain for administrative, legal or security purposes.
Where Your Data Is Sent
Comments left by visitors may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
